We established Ciarans in 1998. It had a very humble beginning (100 Rs per a hut..). The crescent-shaped bay of Palolem Beach is lined with swaying coconut palms. In the heart of this idyllic location lies Ciaran’s, a handful of boutique beach cottages set around lush green tropical gardens.
We have over 30 full-time staff, many who have been with us since day one. We are a Goan company, owned and managed by locals. So if there’s anything you’d like to know about Goa, we are the people to ask!
Every light bulb at Ciaran’s is energy saving. And we offer free water refills too, to cut back on plastic waste. We make our cottages from coir, that’s material from the husk of the coconut. It’s great because coconut is a very sustainable wood and, as you’ll see, it’s in plentiful supply.
Our Bebinca (traditional Goan dessert) is lovingly made by the owner’s sister. Why? Taste it and you’ll realise there’s none other quite like it.
We have a free library, stocked with 1000’s of brilliant books, exclusively for our guests.
Each New Year, we have over 100 guests for dinner. And we’ll make sure our second decade party is even bigger.
We have free security lockers, big enough to take a laptop, and 24 hour security staff, for your reassurance.
We have three resident dogs two of which are Rhodesian Ridgebacks and the third one is a Weimeraner. So if you are missing your dog, come and play with ours! Simba is our mascot and he has his own Facebook page so you can follow it to see our latest news.
